You have to be kidding me

For those who don't know what the VH1 Top 20 list is about, it's a TV show where people vote their favourite music videos on the internet, and may get a chance to see them on TV. VH1 selects the videos you can vote for, these being new music videos. Though there is an option of selecting your favourite music video from all time (Although if you do this, chances are it'll never work because of the number of people voting). The show premiers every Saturday at 9:ooam, with re-runs on Sundays and Tuesdays at 8:00am.

Now, on to my point, this week's #1 was completely atrocious. This boy band was #1 last week as well, and #16 on the week before. It's called New Kids on the block, it was a boyband from the 80's and now they've returned to make a new album. I don't know what exactly caused this decision, but it would be better if they where left to die.

The song is called 'Summertime', their first single from the new album and obviously about summer. The whole deal about the music video literally revolves 40 year old men (Which are the band members) hanging out in a party with 18 and 20 year old chicks. What's really hilarious about the video, is the fact that most of them are 40, if not almost in their 40's and since most of the women are so young in the video, it makes them look like absolute sugardadies and so on.

Honestly, atleast I would appreaciate if the song was actually good. But it's not, it's your average R&B Boy band but with older musicians. In fact, I can say that the only thing that was really a nice detail in the music video, was that in the start of the music video as the music starts playing (Which I must confess, is a bit catchy until the first vocals) all of the bandmember's names are shown as each one of them are introduced, but other than that, the song and video are absolutley cheesy.

I don't even know how this video could posssibly be #1 with all the talented and new artists on the rise. Honestly, not even Madonna and Sheryl Crow where even included in this week's top 20, and the music videos where actually fantastic. What I can't believe even more is that this sorry excuse for a boyband actually kicked Leona Lewis from her #1 weekly position, which honestly, was one of the best musicians to have the position.

Wouldn't it be cool to actually see the new 'You oughta know artists' in the top one? Justin Nozuka, Duffy, and Adele are fantastic musicians, much better than New kids on the block. Sometimes I really ask myself why I actually see Top shows, most of the viewers vote for the cheesiest.
